Around 20 per cent votes have been cast in the first few hours after polling began at 7 am for election to the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat, state election officials said.
Voters were seen lining before the polling booths across the state. Polling was brisk in the state capital.
An electorate of more than 6.29 lakh would decide the fate of four candidates in the parliamentary polls to Mizoram seat while it is a straight contest in the South Tuipui assembly bypoll, held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections today.
