Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda honoured 23 industrialists of Haryana in Chandigarh last evening on the occasion of the PHDCCI Centenary Partnership Summit. |
Hooda said the state had realised the need for sound infrastructure to attract investments and so negotiations were on to adopt a public-private partnership model. |
He said in order to combat power shortages, the state government had set the target of 9,000 Mw during the next three and a half years. |
The Haryana government had received proposals for investment of Rs 7,000 crore after the announcement of the new industrial policy, he added. |
He said the new industrial policy rules had been simplified and institutional mechanism put in order so that it became investor-friendly. "Units had been Gurgaon-Faridabad-centric, but are now spreading to places like Bahadurgarh," Hooda said. |
