Both Houses of Parliament were today adjourned till noon as members cutting across party lines trooped to the well, intensifying their demand for a JPC probe into alleged scam in 2G spectrum allocation, and raising various other issues.
Soon after the House Marshals announced the entry of Speaker Meira Kumar in the Lok Sabha, BJP members stormed the well raising slogans 'We want JPC'. They were joined by Shiv Sena and AIADMK members. Samajwadi Party and BJD MPs were also seen in the well raising slogans in support of a Joint Parliamentary Committee.
As the Speaker took her seat, Congress members were seen on their feet waving copies of newspapers carrying reports of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's alleged involvement in allocation of land to his sons.
The Speaker's repeated pleas for allowing the Question Hour to be taken up went unheeded following which she adjourned the House till noon.
It was trouble from the word go in Rajya Sabha where opposition BJP and AIADMK members rushed towards the well even before Chairman Hamid Ansari could settle in his chair.
Soon, the members started raising slogans demanding a JPC probe in the alleged irregularities in spectrum allocation.
Ansari called for the first listed question of the day but members were unrelenting.
Ruling Congress members too moved towards the well carrying copies of a newspaper report on Karnataka Chief Minister's alleged role in a land allotment case in the state.
Ansari asked members to go back to their places.
"Please don't do this... Please go back to your places," he said told the opposition members repeatedly.
"No banners please," was his refrain to the ruling benches. "Go back to your places."
But as the members did not relent, Ansari adjourned the House till 12 pm.
