In one of the worst tragedies during a religious congregation, as many as 35 pilgrims, including 27 women, were killed and 72 injured in a stampede at Kumbh Mela in Nashik today.
The incident occurred on the opening day of the second Shahi Snan (royal bath) at Ramkund, for which nearly 50 lakh devotees converged.
