Suspected militants yesterday blew up a private bus here killing at least six people and injuring 16 in the second such strike in Punjab in as many months.

The powerful blast, believed to have been caused by RDX, tore apart the bus bound for Jwalaji, a pilgrimage centre in Himachal Pradesh, police said.

The bomb went off as the bus moved out of the main terminus at 2.30 pm. None of the dead could be identified as their bodies were charred beyond recognition and their limbs all about the place. Explosive experts of the army were requisitioned to search for more bombs in the area but they could not find any such device.
