70 centres opened in Punjab for buying mustard

Punjab Agro today announced the opening of 70 purchase centres throughout Punjab to purchase mustard (hyola) grown by farmers under the crop diversification program of the Punjab Government implemented through Punjab Agro.
 
"The market prices of oilseeds have shown a downward trend in Punjab and other states and the farmers are a worried lot. They are not sure whether their crop will be purchased at the contracted price or not. Punjab Agro is now living up to its commitment to buy-back the produce in case the market price falls below the contracted price and is reassuring farmers that the Hyola crop from the contracted farmers will be purchased at Rs. 1715 per quintal."
 
Kripa Shankar Saroj, Managing Director of Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation Limited stated here today. 
 
For the smooth procurement, about 70 purchase centers were being opened in all districts of the state, he added.
 
In Faridkot district, the Centres are at Faridkot and Kot-Kapura; in Bathinda district at Bathtinda, Maur, Sangat and Raman Mandi; in Sangrur District at Sangrur, Dhuri, Malerkotla, Barnala, Bhawanigarh, Sunam, Lehragaga and Moonak; in Muktsar district at Muktsar, Malout, Gidderbaha, and Kilianwali; in Mansa district at Mansa, Budhlada and Sardulgarh; in Moga district at Moga, Bagha Purana, Kot-Ise-Khan; in Ferozepur district at Ferozepur, Fazilka, Abohar, Talwandi Bhai and Zira; in Ludhiana district at Khanna, Samrala, Ludhiana, Mullanpur, Jagraon and Raikot; in Patiala district at Rajpura, Patiala, Nabha, Samana and Sanour; in Jalandhar district at Nurmahal, Bhogpur, Shahkot and Nakodar; in Gurdaspur district at Gurdaspur, Dhariwal, Batala, Quadian and Dina Nagar; in Amritsar district in Ajnala, Bhagtanwala, Jandiala, Rayya, Tarn Taran, Patti and Bhikhiwind; in Ropar district at Ropar, Morinda and Kharar; in Fatehgarh Sahib district at Sirhind; in Hoshiarpur district at Hoshiarpur, Mukerian, Garh-Shankar and Tanda; in Nawanshahar district at Balachaur, Nawanshahar and Banga and in Kapurthala district at Kapurthala, Phagwara and Sultanpur Lodhi.
