As part of the exercise, CEE plans to set up a 'haat' by young volunteers, which provides general awareness to the visitors on the various issues of environment, besides offering options of using a cloth over plastic bags, kulhads over plastic tea-cups and traditional food over packaged food.

Akash Mediratta, senior marketing executive of Ahmedabad City Mall, says, "The idea behind celebrating the environment weekend is to create an alternative source of energy in the daily life of a consumer. Be it power or fuel consumption, the effects on environment needs to be considered at every step. The volunteers would provide awareness to the customers at the mall."

CEE, a national institution engaged in developing programmes to increase awareness about the environment and sustainable development, also plans to include games, street plays and puppet shows in order to generate interest and awareness about environment from the masses that throng the mall during weekends.
