The civil aviation ministry is poised to alter its proposal to lease the four metropolitan airports to private companies. The Centre is now looking at floating a special purpose vehicle for each of the four airports. The Airports Authority of India will hold a 24 per cent stake in the special purpose vehicle, while the remaining will be offered to private operators.
