CNG prices will be reduced from current Rs 68.80 per kg to Rs 58.75 kg

BS Reporter Ahmedabad
Adani Gas Limited (AGL) has announced a reduction in compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) (domestic) in Ahmedabad and Vadodara by 10.05 per kg and Rs 8.2 per kg, respectively.

The move comes after Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd had slashed prices. From December 27, CNG prices would be reduced from Rs 68.80 a kg to Rs 58.75/kg, PNG (domestic) would fall from Rs 37 a standard cubic metre (scm) to Rs 28.80 per scm, excluding value-added tax. Adani said the announcement comes in the wake of the company being allocated limited quantities of cheaper domestic gas for distribution in CNG and PNG (domestic) segments in Ahmedabad & Vadodara.

Last week, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation had announced reduction in gas prices for vehicular (CNG) and domestic (PNG) use as soon as supply from Gas Authority of India begins from Dahej point. It had announced a reduction in CNG prices for vehicular use to Rs 56.20 a kg from Rs 66.30 a kg, and in the piped natural gas (PNG) for domestic use, to Rs 9.45 per scm from Rs 11.45 per scm.

With GSPC and Adani Gas reducing gas prices, the move would benefit over 235,000 vehicle users and more than 1.23 million households of the state.

AGL operates 48 CNG stations in Ahmedabad and nine CNG Stations in Vadodara. It has 187,000 PNG customers in Ahmedabad and 600 PNG customers in Vadodara.
