Adanis to start gas supply in Ahmedabad by June

 The company also expects to start distribution of gas in Vadodara city by February, 2004.

 GAEL, which is at present in talks with various parties including the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) for participating in its CNG distribution network, sees demand for gas in these two major cities of Gujarat going up to 20 lakh cubic metre a day by 2007.

 However, commencing gas distribution in Vadodara will depend on the approval from the state government and the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) which runs its own PNG supply company which Adanis are trying to acquire.
