The Asian Development Bank has decided to release Rs 1,500 crore in the second phase for various development projects in the city.
The money would be spent on solid waste management, improving drainage and sewerage system and city beautification, Kolkata mayor Shovan Chatterjee said.
In another development, the mayoyr held a meeting today with city police commissioner RK Pachnanda on setting up a trauma care centre in the city.
The mayor said that a 7,000 square feet plot of land has been located inside the Kolkata Police Hospital to set up the trauma care centre at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore.
