Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani on Sunday categorically denied the reports that he would skip Bangalore as part of his ongoing Jan Chetna Yatra over the B S Yeddyurappa issue.

“The trip is on as per schedule and I don’t have any knowledge that my scheduled trip to Bangalore as part of Jan Chetna Yatra has been cancelled,” Advani said while talking to reporters here Sunday morning.

He is hearing from the media people that it has been cancelled, Advani said, adding that he would go to Karnataka and also to Bangalore as per the scheduled programme. Advani is scheduled to address a public rally Oct 30 in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka where the BJP is in power.A section of media had earlier reported that Advani would skip Bangalore in a move to distant himself from former party leader and chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, who is presently in jail on corruption charges.

Advani reached Chhattisgarh Saturday afternoon on a two-day schedule of his Yatra and addressed a rally in capital Raipur Saturday where he said black money stashed in overseas banks should be brought back and invested in developing rural infrastructure.

Advani’s yatra on Sunday afternoon crossed the Chhattisgarh border in Mahasamund and entered Orissa.
