The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national executive has skirted the issue of building Ram temple at Ayodhya to take up most current issues of Amaranth land row and Ram Sethu.
Briefing reporters on party's national executive's political resolution passed on Saturday, Ananth Kumar, BJP general secretary, said "The BJP national executive has adopted the resolution which will focus on UPA government's miss-handling of Indo-US nuclear deal, Ram Sethu, playing to the hands of separatists in Jammu and Kashmir and going soft on terrorism."
The political resolution was moved by Ravi Shankar Prasad and is seconded by Arun Shouri, Narendra Modi, Chaman Lal and Soufi Yousaf.
National executive also authorised the BJP senior leader and NDA prime ministerial candidate LK Advani to initiate mass-contact programme under the banner of ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ commencing from Bangalore from today (September 13) and to conclude in Hyderabad on October 25.
The political resolution said the entire argument of Dr Manmohan Singh government in favour of the Indo-US nuclear deal made in the last three years stands completely exposed in the light of the letter sent by the Bush administration to the chairman of the house, foreign Affairs Committee of the US Congress about the conditions of the deal.
The BJP's stand to the deal in the present form, seriously comprises India's strategic and the right of nuclear test stands, completely vindicated. In fact, many assurances given by the prime minister before the Parliament about the merits of the deal turns out to be patently false and misleading as far as India's strategic interest is concerned.
The BJP would like to clearly reiterate that any compromise on India's right to nuclear test is wholly unacceptable. The deal entails heavy costs in the event we go for the test and obviously the UPA government has not properly negotiated our strategic interests, the resolution said.

Intervening in the discussion on political resolution, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi said "The government has bowed to it allies in agreeing to the demolition of Ram Sethu. This was done essentially to hurt the majority sentiment in the country."
Raising the issue of Amaranth land row and the situation at Jammu and Kashmir, BJP resolution said the gross indifference and ineptitude of the UPA government has given a new disturbing rise to separatist politics in the state.
The party would like to salute the extra-ordinary and massive people's movement led by Shri Amaranth Sangharsh Samiti which ultimately forced the government to withdraw its order and permit the Shrine Board to make provision for the devotees on the lands made available. It was a conflict between the separatist and the
nationalist and it is a mater of assurance that the nationalist forces could force the reversal of the surrender before the separatists.
Narendra Modi said "The decision to withdraw allotment of land to the Shri Amaranathji Shrine Board was evidence of the government bending backwards to appease the separatists. The UPA government wanted to please the separatist even at the cost of alienating the nationalists."
On SIMI and the fight against terror, BJP resolution said the UPA government has repeatedly given the signals to terrorists and their patrons both inside the country and across the border that strong action against them is tradeable for votes.
"Thanks to the soft approach of the UPA government, India has emerged as a strong epicenter of terror in the last four years. This soft approach was tragically evident while dealing with the issue of relating to the ban on the notorious SIMI," the resolution said.
This organiation does not believe in our constitution. An investigation has brought out the real objective of SIMI, which is to establish a Muslim caliphate in total defiance of our ideals of secularism liberalism and democracy, it added.
Narendra Modi said "The Central government has been soft on terror. It has consistently sent a signal that its softness on terror is minority friendly. This repeal of POTA, the non-execution of Afzal Guru, the refusal to give assent to the state level anti-organised crime laws are all evidence of the government's softness on terror. The softness on terror is being used by he UPA as an instrument for vote bank politics."
