Uttarakhand government has slashed 2 per cent cess and 2 per cent VAT on petrol and diesel, state Finance Minister Prakash Pant informed on Wednesday.

The move comes after three other states, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, cut Value Added Tax (VAT) to bring down fuel prices.
