This Dussehra saw numerous small entrepreneurs launch their business ventures in Agra, which included jewellery and garment showrooms and also mobile shoe shops.

On Monday, Jewellers India Pvt Ltd, an Agra-based jewellery-manufacturing and -reselling firm, launched its showroom "Lalchand Shobhraj", which would deal exclusively in branded KDM jewellery.

In another jewellery showroom "KBC", which opened at the CR mall in the town, the traditional jewellery took a back seat with a wide range of light-weight modern jewellery for casual as well as bridal wear.

Almost six exclusive showrooms, selling branded garments for men, women and children, were inaugurated on Monday. The Jaipuria group also inaugurated its first housing project "Jaipuria Sunrise Greens", spread over 111 acres near the Shamsabad road, which was launched by the group promoters SK Jaipuria and RK Jaipuria. They said this was the first township in Agra that was specifically designed for the middle-income segment.

However, the most innovative concept introduced in the town, on this day, was the "Mobile Shope Shop" of Austin Shoes, selling shoes at factory prices through a retail shop in a mobile van.

The company executives running the van said the shoes were guaranteed free of manufacturing defects and any warranty claims could be made online, which would be redeemed by the company's mobile shop, visiting that particular locality in three days.
