After a gap of 23 years, Ahmedabad will host 61st Indian Pharmaceutical Congress' mega event in December 2009.
Indian Pharmaceutical Congress is organised every year by the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) which is federation of five professional bodies namely Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Indian Pharmaceutical Graduates’ Association (IPGA), Indian Hospital Pharmacists’ Association (IHPA), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers’ of India (APTI) and All India Drugs Control Officers' Confederation (AIDCOC).
This year's IPC mega event will be hosted by All India Drugs Control Officers' Confederation at Ahmedabad between 11 and 13 December. The main theme of the even is "Pharma Vision 2020- Building Trust in Safety and Efficacy of Medicines". The organizers are expecting more than 7000 delegates in the ensuing pharma industry event.
Informing about the stature of conference, H.G. Koshia, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, said, “IPCA has so far organized 60 Indian Pharmaceutical Congress events at different locations. The major attraction of 61st IPC will be the exhibition which will be organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry [FICCI].”
“We are very happy as The Indian Pharmaceutical Congress has returned to Gujarat after a gap of 23 years. All the professionals in the pharmaceutical field are excited,” said Pankaj Patel, Chief patron of IPC and Chairman & Managing Director of Zydus Cadila.
The focus of 61st IPC will be consumer centric and efforts will be made to involve the consumer organizations, other social organizations and professionals working in healthcare sector.
