India is aiming to double per capita income within eight years by sustaining an annual growth rate of 9%, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said today in a keynote address at the India-Europe Investment Forum in London. "An annual growth rate of 3.9% leads to doubling of per capita income in a little more than 18 years. If the annual growth rate is 9%, per capita income will double in a little more than eight years," Chidambaram said. India |
