The excitement of the discounted fares offered by Indian Airlines (IA) and Jet Airways might fizzle out with the two airlines offering just about 10 per cent of the total economy class seats to customers at the reduced price.
IA sources revealed that the airline offers 2,000 seats on discount per day out of the 18,000-20,000 economy class seats available on the 50 discounted sectors. In fact, on an Airbus A-300, 25 seats are offered on discount out of the available 210 economy class seats. While on Airbus A-320s and Boeing 737s, 15 seats are given on discount of the total 126 and 119 economy class seats, respectively.
