National air carrier Air India owes a whopping Rs 739.5 crore to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on account of landing and parking charges.
"Air India has to pay us Rs 739.5 crore as landing and parking charges," an AAI official told PTI here today on condition of anonymity.
The dues are till October 31, the official said, adding that "we have no security deposit of Air India with us against these dues unlike private air-carriers".
While SpiceJet owes Rs 15.76 crore against a security deposit of Rs 30.50 crore, low-budget carrier IndiGo's outstandings are Rs 6 crore against Rs 46.05 crore, the official said.
Wadia Group-promoted GoAir's dues are Rs 3.81 crore against Rs 13 crore security money, he said.
All business-class airline, Paramount Airways, has an higher outstanding compared to the guarantee money at Rs 12.50 crore against Rs 6.50 crore.
The Kingfisher-Kingfisher Red (erstwhile Deccan) combine owes Rs 286.62 crore against a security deposit of just Rs 67 crore, whereas the Jet-Jetlite combine owe Rs 32.78 crore against Rs 55.66 crore surety amount with AAI.
