Airtel backs RCGC 175-yr celebrations

The Royal Calcutta Golf Club will be celebrating 175 years of its existence with a week filled with golf and festivities from November 20.

Airtel will be presenting the event in association with The Telegraph. Sponsorship support has also been received from Eveready Industries India, Rasoi, RPG, National Insurance, Essar and product support from Daks, Kingfisher, Sula.

The official hotel for the event is ITC Sonar Bangla Sheraton & Towers and the event is being managed by "Tiger Sports".

Confirmations have been received from Indian golfers like Ashok Malik, R K Pitambar, Bunny Lakshman Singh. Arjun Atwal will be present on the occasion.

From the corporate world, Sunil Mittal of Bharti Televentures, Shashi Ruia of Essar and Pawan Munjal of Hero Honda will be teeing off. Leander Paes and Kapil Dev will be felicitated on November 27 along with other former all India golf champions.

The weeklong celebrations will involve the complete membership of the club including juniors, seniors and ladies.
