AirTel has withdrawn the Free M2M (Mobile to Mobile) offer for outgoing calls within the Karnataka circle.
The decision comes after the recent Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ruling which does not allow any operator to take advantage of the existing network and offer customers free packages within the circle.
However, customers, who have already availed of this option, will continue to get the service till the regulatory body reverts to AirTel on the mode of compensation.
Suparna Menon, the marketing head of AirTel, said that since this was an overnight ruling announced by the Trai, AirTel could not notify the customers on time.
