AISECT announces launch of rural jobs portal

AISECT registered one lakh rural job applicants last week at 600 of 11,000 skilling centres it runs in the country

AISECT, a private skilling agency and a partner of the National Skill Development Corporation, today announced the launch of a rural job portal called rojgarmantra.com.  

AISECT said it registered one lakh rural job applicants last week at 600 of the 11,000 skilling centres it runs all over the country.

The companies registered with the job portal include Bata, Eureka Forbes, LIC, Gati, Tata Sky, Micromax, SBI Life Insurance, Kotak Life Insurance, HDFC Bank, Tata Indicom and HCL and regional enterprises such as Anant Spinning Mills, Bhagat Radio, Pankaj Tutorials, Sakambari Foods and Nava Kisan Bio Plantech.

Several rural employment sites have been coming up, the most notable being rojgar duniya by Monster.com. According to AISECT director Pallavi Rao Chaturved this portal is unique because it is part of the skilling mission of the company.
 

"We were providing placements to 75% of the one lakh people we skilled each year at our centres. We wanted to take jobs to people beyond our centres," she said.
