Agriculture Minister Ajit Singh today said India would have to bargain hard to muster adequate support for its stand on the issues related to farm trade under the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Protection through tariff was the only way to protect Indian growers against the unfair competition from other countries, where the domestic support and export subsidies were high, Singh added.
India also require strengthening of the global trade agreement
