Al-Khuddam to offer cars on rent to tourists

Known for its valuable services for Haj and Umrah, the Al-Khuddam Haj and Umrah Services has ventured into the field of providing cars on a rental basis to the tourists, especially the foreigners visiting Kashmir and Ladakh.

Going one step ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir government, it's the first innovative attempt of any private company in Kashmir to attract tourists and provide them such a unique facility which was nowhere available.

The company is expecting tremendous response especially, during the peak tourist season in summers.

Sheikh Feroz Ahmed, managing director of the company, said, Business Standard, providing a car on rental basis to the tourists at a place like Kashmir was something new and it would add new dimensions to the tourism industry in the state.

With the top class facilities at their disposal, the tourists would enjoy each and every their stay and would be satisfied at the end of the day, he added.

Responding to a question, the MD said, "It is for the first time that the concept of car rental has been introduced in the valley. We have tapped all the major tourist resorts in Kashmir like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg and Aishmuqam and we hope of overwhelming response during the coming summer season. Feroz said the company kept available top notch vehicles for tourists and these cars were luxurious. He said garages were spacious and they could accommodate many vehicles and by looking at these vehicles, a sense of elegance and style could be attached to them.

While giving description about the variety of vehicles , the MD said vehicles such as Toyota Camry, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Royal, Toyota Innova, Toyota Corolla and Tavera New had been offered for the services so that the tourists visiting this part of the country could feel the difference and enjoy world-class facilities.

The company has also offered its service for the wedding ceremonies, for carrying bridegroom and the people accompanying marriage party. It has been providing the services to the corporate houses in the state and here to, their performance has won accolades from the concerned officials.

The company has also come out with a proper uniform for the drivers of the rental cars. The tourists will also have a choice of self-drive, but most of the vehicles are right hand drive which may be a problem for the Western tourists.

The company may plan to have left hand drive vehicles if the demand increases in the coming season.
