Sales of Lalbhai group company Atul Ltd are up 11 per cent to Rs 114 crore in the first quarter of 1999-2000. Gross profit from operations was Rs 3.7 crore from a loss of Rs 3.8 crore the previous year. The company has, however, reported a net loss of Rs 4 crore. Managing director Sunil Lalbhai said while there was an improvement in the performance of the company in the first quarter, the extent and pace have not been satisfactory.
