Ambala-Chandigarh highway inaugurated today

GMR Group's 35 km Ambala-Chandigarh highway project was inaugurated today. The highway stretch on NH21 and NH22 was executed on a built-operate-transfer (BOT) basis at a cost of Rs 500 crore.

The concession period for this project is 20 years and it took two and a half years to complete. The project was awarded to GMR through internal competitive bidding in November 2005.
