Nearly two years after Amitabh Bachchan laid the foundation of a girls college named after his daughter-in-law and actress Aishwarya Rai in Barabanki district, legal formalities have been completed to transfer the land to the organisation building it.

"Amitabh Bachchan has donated land in Daultpur village to Nishta Foundation, an organisation run by SP MP Jaya Prada, which will construct the college," official sources said here today.

The legalities regarding transfer of land were completed by Rajesh Rishikesh Yadav, to whom Bachchan had given power of attorney, yesterday.

The foundation laying function was attended by Asihwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh's wife Jaya, son Abhishek, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, general secretary Amar Singh, MP Jaya Prada and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

However, the construction was delayed due to some legal issues.
