Amtex 2006 generates biz worth Rs 480cr

Domestic and global industry majors have launched over 15 new state-of-the-art machinery items at Amtex 2006, Asia's second biggest machine tools exposition. Many companies have exhibited their new products for the first time in India with special launches for the Indian markets.

Business visitors evinced keen interest in the new machineries, which were launched at the five-day exposition, which concluded here on Monday.

Machine tools exhibitors received over Rs 480 crore worth of business and trade enquiries and the total quantum of business generated would be known only after the end of the exhibition, said Cyril Pereira, CEO of Triune Exhibitors Pvt Ltd, the organisers of Amtex. During the first two days the event attracted over 20,000 business visitors.
