Amul invites Pak Prez

Amul has invited Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf and his colleagues to visit Anand- the country's milk capital and witness the progress made by India on this front.
 
Talking to Business Standard B M Vyas, managing director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) said, "We have informed the visiting 13-member Pakistani delegation about our intention to invite top Pakistani leaders including President Musharraf and his senior colleagues to visit Amul."
 
Vyas, who visited Pakistan two months ago as part of Amul delegation, said the President is convinced that the dairy industry would work effectively in generating employment and eradicating poverty.
 
In response, the Pakistani delegation on Friday made an offer to the Milkman of India "� V Kurien to visit Pakistan anytime.
 
On the last day of the Pakistani delegation's stay at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), while the delegation was having a group photograph with Kurien, the secretary of Livestock Department, Punjab, Pakistan, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, said, "We are forwarding a life time offer to V Kurien to visit Pakistan for helping out Pakistan to develop its dairy sector."
 
The chairman of GCMMF, V Kurien promptly accepted the goodwill gesture expressed by the Pakistani delegation and said, "I am willing to visit Pakistan." However, Kurien added in a lighter vein, "I don't travel long distance without my wife, she is my bodyguard."
 
He further said that he is delighted with the visiting Pakistani delegation and looks forward for effective implementation of the Amul model in Pakistan so the Pakistani milk producer can benefit from the milk revolution.
