Andhra announces awards for IT firms

Satyam, Wipro, Microsoft bag top IT exporters award

The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced performance awards to honour IT companies under 12 categories from this year.
 
The awards will be given away to the winners by chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at the inaugural function of GITEX exhibition tomorrow.
 
Three top IT exporters from the state "� Satyam Computer Services Private Limited (Rs 1,821 crore), Wipro Limited (Rs 972 crore) and Microsoft India (R&D) Private Limited "� have been selected for the 'Top Exporters in IT sector' award while GENPACT (Rs 527 crore), HSBC Electronic Data Processing India Private Limited (Rs 194 crore), Dell Computer India Private Limited (Rs 128 crore) have been chosen as the ''Top Exporters in ITeS Sector' by the government.
 
Under the hardware category, Macket Components, WeP Peripherals Limited and Hyderabad Flextech Limited, having export turnovers of Rs 4.48 crore, Rs 3.55 crore and Rs 2.75 crore respectively, have been chosen for top exporters' award.
 
Other category results are: Top exporters in SME IT sector: SIS Software (India) Private Limited, IIC Systems Private Limited and Yash Technologies Private Limited.
 
Top exporters in SME ITeS sector: 24/7 Customer Private Limited, Swift Response Private Limited, and Sentini Technologies Private Limited; top start-up company: NCR Corporation India Private Limited; top start-up company in ITeS sector: Google Online India Private Limited.; top start-up company in hardware sector: Danlaw Technologies India Limited; top exporter in Tier-II cities: Apex Solutions Limited and GMD Software Solutions.
