The Andhra Pradesh government has increased the tax on aviation turbine fuel, or ATF, to 16 per cent from the earlier 4 per cent, a move that will have an impact on airlines’ operations. This will come into effect from February 1, said principal secretary (revenue) Asutosh Mishra.
The hike in ATF has been effected under Section 79 (1) of the Andhra Pradesh Value Added Tax Act of 2005, by amending Schedule 6 of the Act.
