Anpara C power project selloff reaches flashpoint

This is the question upper-most in the minds of the people of Uttar Pradesh, as the UP government and the electricity workers rapidly move towards a confrontation.
 
Employees of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) have decided to go on indefinite strike from tomorrow in protest against privitisation of Anpara C power project.
 
The UPPCL has drawn up an emergency plan to deal with the situation and a high-level meeting was held here in which senior NTPC officials took part even as the employees claimed they had the "moral support" of NTPC staff.
