India has initiated anti-dumping investigations against Vitamin A Palmitate, used in pharmaceutical preparations, and acyclic alcohol, an industrial alcohol used to form esters for plasticising vinyl and other resins.
While anti-dumping investigations into Vitamin A Palmitate concern imports from the European Union, Singapore and Georgia, the acyclic alcohol probe concerns imports from Singapore, Brazil, Romania, Malaysia and South Africa, the directorate general of anti-dumping and alliedactivities in the commerce and industry ministry, said in two separate notifications. The notifications said there was sufficient evidence to suggest dumping and injury to the domestic industry.
Probe against the dumping of acyclic alcohol,. also referred to as Oxo Alcohol, was filed following the petitions filed by National Organic Chemical Industries (Nocil), Andhra Petrochemicals and Indu Nissan Oxo Chemical Industries.
