The cement industry in Andhra Pradesh, which is passing through a difficult phase due to poor price realisation on account of surplus capacities, is now pinning hopes on demand growth in the wake of welfare schemes recently announced by the state government.
The state government recently sanctioned 37.50 lakh toilets and 6.47 lakh houses for weaker sections in the state.
The government has also ordered construction of over 50,000 kitchens to implement the mid-day meal scheme in the schools. The construction work of the these projects is expected to begin in a month
