The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to simplify revenue laws and scrap archaic ones.

In a meeting with revenue officials on Monday, chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, had given directions to simplify revenue laws by April 15, 2015. He wanted mutations and all other land records be updated online.

According to a press release, the officials informed Naidu that there were 420 land surveyors at present and 4,000 youth would be trained for three months.

The chief minister suggested that the existing 10,600 village revenue officers could undergo training if they were willing to. Else, people could be outsourced for surveying.

Naidu asked the officials to come up with scientific ways of bringing changes in the revenue system, the release stated.
