BP Acharya, the secretary of industries and commerce, who is spearheading the biotech activities in the state, accepted the award on behalf of the government from an eminent scientist, MS Swaminathan, at a function held in Bangalore on December 20. |
In his acceptance speech, Acharya stated that the award would inspire the state in its pursuit of excellence in creating a world-class biotech cluster, and providing an enabling environment for the industry to grow. |
