Andhra Pradesh is going to adopt a special mechanism by constituting three departmental sub-groups led by principal secretaries of agriculture, industry, and municipal administration and urban development for further studying the best practices of energy savings. This would pave the way for improving efficiency and avoiding wastage of power.
“The government is also very serious to involve all district collectors to oversee the implementation of energy conservation measures more effectively and decided to constitute district-level committees under the chairmanship of the collectors,” chief secretary Minnie Matthew, said in a release on Sunday.
Reiterating that the ultimate goal of the government was to optimise power generation and reduce aggregate technical and commercial losses, she said apart from promoting renewable energy, the government was trying to purchase power from outside to meet the requirements of the public.
