AP's star hotels see 15% rise in occupancy rates

 The hotels, which till three years back, saw revenue growth levels stagnating at five to six per cent have now recorded over 20 per cent growth in average revenue per room and over 15 per cent rise in occupancy rates.

 In the five-star segment, the average occupancy rate during the last fiscal was over 75 per cent and it peaked to a record level of 85 per cent for three-star hotels.

 There are around 5,000 rooms in Andhra Pradesh in the three-star and above segments. Hyderabad alone accounts for a total of 3,000 rooms including 1,200 in the five-star segment. In the city, two new hotels sprung up during the last fiscal
