Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday asked the central government to extend the interest subvention to the rescheduled crop loans.
He also wanted steps to be taken to simplify procedures for reschedulement of crop loans. He suggested that a ‘Risk Mitigation Fund’ may be constituted for natural calamities by the Centre with a suitable corpus.
Speaking at the meeting of finance minster Pranab Mukherjee with chief ministers of south zone states and union territories, chairmen of public sector banks and chiefs of financial institutions on Sunday at Bangalore, he requested the finance minister to announce the interest rates on loans to SHGs on a par with farmers in the next Budget.
