The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, today said that he would take up with the centre the need for reducing excise duty on drip irrigation equipment and interest rate on loans to farmers to promote the sector in a bigway in the country.
Naidu, who is also chairman of the central task force on drip irrigation, called for liberalising the procedures for granting loans to farmers to encourage them to opt for drip irrigation sector and sprinkler technologies.
