If the airlines are to be believed, the APEX fares and other schemes have raised their passenger load factors (PLF) by up to 12 per cent in August.
According to figures quoted by Jet Airways, Indian Airlines (IA) and Air Sahara, they carried on average 38,285 passengers a day in July, which increased to 43,045 passengers in August.
IA claims its passenger load factors has gone up to 62 per cent in August from 54 per cent in July, which means it carried on average 21,080 passengers daily in August as compared to 18,360 passengers daily in July.

Jet Airways officials said its passenger load factors for August had touched 61 per cent from 55 per cent in July. Therefore, Jet carried 17,690 passengers daily in August as compared to 15,950 passengers in July.
