The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is expected to spend Rs 750 crore for providing basic infrastructure facilities like roads, water and power to 29 of the 54 notified SEZs it has directly or indirectly associated with. |
Disclosing this here on Wednesday, B P Acharya, chairman and managing director of APIIC, said the above investment would be made in a period of five years. |
This is in addition to the corporation's ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure facilities at the existing 290-odd industrial parks being maintained by it. |
Speaking to media on the sidelines of a conference of APIIC zonal managers, which is being held to specifically focus on the infrastructural issues related to SEZs in the state, Acharya said the corporation would spend almost Rs 100 crore on improving infrastructure of the industrial parks during the current year, while the same was just a couple of crore annually till recently. |
The corporation on Wednesday launched an online asset management system developed on the 'a-Mantra' platform of Hyderabad-based SatNav Technologies. |
The system deals with the spatial data base of the land available for industries at various parks. The corporation has invested about Rs 2 crore in this system, which is integrated with ERP. |
Meanwhile, the industries department has appointed industrial promotion officers (IPOs) for each of the 48 Industrial Local area Authorities (ILAs) to help get single-window clearances for new industries in these areas. |
