Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation (APSFC) has evinced interest in securing an insurance corporate agency registration.

APSFC is expected to shortly file its application with the IRDA for getting the nod to become a corporate insurance agent.

APSFC already has a strategic tie-up with IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance company to offer insurance related services to its customers.

"APSFC needs to become a one-stop financial institution that provides all finance and insurance related needs under one roof to the customers," M Gopalakrishna, chairman of APSFC said.

The move to become a corporate insurance agent is expected to improve the income sources of the corporation but also provide a competitive edge, he said.

APSFC and IFFCO-TOKIO recently organised a training programme on insurance modalities for 28 selected employees working in 25 branch offices of APSFC. IFFCO-TOKIO is expected to conduct more such training programmes for APSFC employees.
