APSRTC plea to hike fares turned down

The duo called on the chief minister at Secretariat. They said the rise in fuel costs would put an additional burden of Rs 337 crore on the corporation annually. This year, the burden would be Rs 305 crore as five month have lapsed. The chief minister asked APSRTC to not to hike the fares and suggested that it explore avenues to enhance its non-traffic avenues. He said the government was already reimbursing the corporation Rs 446 motor vehicle tax.

 

Dinesh Reddy said that the APSRTC would get Rs 3 crore annually from the multiplex that is coming up in its nine acre at Musheerabad in the city
