The Arogyasri building, being constructed by the state government, will be named as ‘YSR Bhavan’ after former chief minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy. A proposal to this effect was approved by chief minister K Rosaiah on Thursday.
Rosaiah also asked the officials to study in detail the proposal to integrate the Arogyasri, 108 and 104 health schemes in the state. He directed finance and revenue departments to provide adequate funds.
The state is also trying for a 70 per cent central assistance for the Arogyasri scheme, which was now being replicated in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and a few other states.
He expressed concern about reports of 108 ambulances not operating fully and some of the ambulances are off the roads. He asked the EMRI officials, who operate the ambulance, to ensure that all the ambulances were on the roads at the earliest.
Meanwhile, revenue principal secretary, Ashutosh Mishra, on behalf of AP Beverages Corporation, handed over a cheque for Rs 44 crore to Rosaiah towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The amount, along with Rs 26 crore collected from the state government employees , would be given to the Arogyasri scheme. With this, all the backlog payments would be cleared, an official press release said.
