Citibank's Chandigarh Branch last week hosted an art exhibition as part of its three-city travelling art exhibition titled "Contemporary Forms". |
The exhibition arrived at the Chandigarh branch after a six-day showing at the Jalandhar branch and will culminate at Citibank's Ludhiana branch. |
The exhibition is organised under the aegis of the CitiGold Wealth Management. It will provide the bank's customers an opportunity to see the paintings of upcoming and established artists from the Bengal School. The school is popularly accepted as the first recognised art style of modern India. |
Speaking on the occasion, a senior bank official said, "These initiatives help us to convey our appreciation to our customer's and thank them for longstanding relationship with us." |
Vandya Bagrodia of Art Folio said that corporate support to upcoming artists is the need of the day and the bank's support to art helps set the trend for others to follow. Shows such as these demystify the common perception of art as being elitist or overly cerebral. |
