Aruna Sundarajan appointed new Steel Secretary

She is among five new Secretaries appointed by the government

Senior IAS officer Aruna Sundarajan was today appointed as Secretary in Ministry of Steel as part of a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the government.

Sundarajan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, is presently Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund under Department of Telecommunications. She has been appointed in place of Rakesh Singh, who superannuated on September 30, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

She is among five new Secretaries appointed by the government.

Vijay Shankar Pandey will be new Secretary in Department of Chemicals and Fertilisers. Pandey, a 1979 batch IAS officer, is presently posted in his cadre -- Uttar Pradesh.
 

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved continuation of additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of SAIL with Anup K Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for the purpose of continuity, till a regular incumbent joins, it said.

Navin Verma, Special Secretary in Cabinet Secretary, has been named as Secretary in Ministry for Development of North Eastern Region.

Naini Jayaseelan, a 1980 batch IAS officer of Union territories cadre, has been appointed as Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat in Home Ministry.

Ramesh Abhishek, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, has been appointed as Secretary, Performance Management in Cabinet Secretariat.

ACC has approved assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Minority Affairs to Amarendra Sinha, Secretary, National Commission of Minorities.

The post will fall vacant following superannuation of Arvind Mayaram on October 31, the order said.
