Asian market mixed; Nikkei up 126pts

Asian markets are exhibiting mixed trend this morning.

The Hang Seng index has rallied 259 points to 31,612. The Nikkei has gained 126 points at 16,864. The Straits Times index has added 18 points to 3824.

On the other hand, the Taiwan Weighted index has dropped 116 points to 9595. The Shanghai Composite index has slipped 41 points to 5914, and the Seoul Composite index is down 16 points at 2049.
