Asian markets move up; Nikkei gains 100pts

Asian markets are mostly up this morning.

The Nikkei has advanced 100 points to 16,384. The Hang Seng has surged 302 points to 30,156.

The Taiwan Weighted index has gained 47 points at 9616. The Straits Times has rallied 36 points to 3743, and the Seoul Composite index has advanced 33 points to 2010.

The Shanghai Composite index, however, has slipped 71 points to 5492.
