Asian markets slide; Hang Seng down 4%

Asian markets are witnessing selling across the board following weak cues from the US markets.

The Hang Seng has tumbled over 4% (1,090 points) to 24,748. The Nikkei has dropped 131 points to 13,842.

The Taiwan Weighted index has plunged 146 points to 8,282, and the Seoul Composite index has shed 25 points at 1,722.

The Shanghai Composite index has tumbled 109 points to 5,334.
